“Here We Go” Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal star secures EPL transfer
By Kian Long
Fabrizio Romano has applied the significant "Here We Go" label to an Arsenal transfer, which will see a well-respected Hale End graduate, Eddie Nketiah, leave North London to join Crystal Palace.
Eddie Nketiah was one of the players who didn't look safe in an Arsenal jersey heading into this summer transfer window. Simply put, he has never been good enough to start week in, week out, despite providing good backup from time to time.
Understandably, then, Eddie Nketiah grew frustrated with the lack of game time he could be promised in an Arsenal jersey. Despite his best efforts, Mikel Arteta simply could not hand him a place in the starting lineup.
So, what did Fabrizio Romano say about Eddie Nketiah's transfer to Crystal Palace?
Fabrizio Romano confirms Eddie Nketiah secures Arsenal transfer exit
According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Eddie Nketiah will officially join Crystal Palace, after two agreements were struck.
The first agreement which has already taken place involves Crystal Palace and Eddie Nketiah. It's believed that Eddie Nketiah has already agreed personal terms to join the London club.
The second agreement struck involves Arsenal and Crystal Palace. Arsenal will be the beneficiary of a £25m fixed fee to sell Eddie Nketiah, with £5m included in add-ons.
So, the green light has arrived and Fabrizio Romano has provided the infamous "Here We Go" label, which in this day and age is seen as a transfer staple. It is the icing on the transfer cake, essentially.
Eddie Nketiah is a well-respected character at Arsenal. As eluded to, he has never been a first-team starter when everybody is fully fit but he's always tried his absolute hardest.
There is a certain attachment placed on any player who comes through the Arsenal academy and Eddie Nketiah is one of them, joining Arsenal from Chelsea (which also wins brownie points) as a youngster.
Eddie Nketiah has provided many great memories to Arsenal fans. None more so than when he clinched the winner against arch-rivals Man United late into the match, securing three points for Arsenal in their 2022/23 title challenge.
Do you think Eddie Nketiah will be a success at Crystal Palace?
