Fabrizio Romano has provided two quick-fire updates about Leandro Trossard. Al Ittihad had submitted a transfer offer for Leandro Trossard, which Arsenal rejected.

Arsenal have begun the Premier League season adequately. While they dropped points, controversially, against Brighton and Hove Albion, their two consecutive wins in the first two games still set them in good stead for the season ahead.

In the second Premier League game, Leandro Trossard played a key role. He came off the bench and scored an almost instantaneous opener against Aston Villa, hinting to Mikel Arteta that he must start.

And Trossard did start against his former club Brighton and Hove Albion, unsurprisingly. That said, Leandro Trossard has recently made the news, but what Fabrizio Romano said?

Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal will not accept €35m Leandro Trossard bid

Fabrizio Romano reported this morning on X (formerly Twitter) that Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad were interested in signing Leandro Trossard from Arsenal.

The transfer interest quickly materialised into an official offer submitted to Arsenal. However, the Italian transfer expert did say that Arsenal turned down the offer and informed Al Ittihad that Leandro Trossard is not for sale.

In case you were not aware, today (Monday 2 September) is the official transfer deadline day for Saudi Pro League clubs. This could explain the quick turnaround from transfer interest to a formal offer for Trossard.

Leandro Trossard is bound to have an important season with Arsenal. Last season, the Belgian emerged into one of the best players at the club, continuously making his mark from the bench.

Important goals became impossible for Mikel Arteta to ignore. Indeed, he became a sure starter for the Gunners towards the end of last season.

At the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, Mikel Arteta placed a particular emphasis on Gabriel Martinelli, starting the Brazilian ahead of Trossard in the opening two fixtures.

However, Trossard scoring against Aston Villa made Arteta rethink and hopefully, he will keep his place in the starting lineup. Either way, he will remain an Arsenal player this season.
