Former Arsenal whizz-kid is offered return to the Premier League on loan
By Kian Long
It is never nice to see former Arsenal players struggling at their new clubs, particularly when those players formed a close connection with the fans and didn't leave with any bitter feeling. This can certainly be said for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as despite joining a Premier League rival in Liverpool, there was never any hard feeling between The Ox and Arsenal fans.
The Englishman who broke through at Southampton but truly made a name for himself at Arsenal is currently living in Turkey, playing for Besiktas. Besiktas had a rollercoaster season last time out, involved in a managerial carousel and finishing sixth in the Super Lig. Not good by any stretch of the imagination for a club of their size.

Now that former Arsenal player Giovanni van Bronckhorst is at the helm, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been informed that he's allowed to leave this summer. With two years remaining on his contract, The Mirror claim that he has been left out of Besiktas' pre-season squad, with an eye on a Premier League return. A loan move could be possible, should any English side wish to take him in.
Needless to say, Arsenal are not linked to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He does not play in a position of need for Arsenal, so they have no reason to pursue him. If anything, bringing him on loan could only jeopardise the development of young players at Arsenal.
However, Oxlade-Chamberlain's return to England is certainly interesting from an Arsenal perspective. As eluded to, it's never nice to see a former player struggle. Since leaving England, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's time has been nothing but misery, scoring just four Super Lig goals last season.
The Ox did experience some success at Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp's midfield had moved on without him. As a likeable character with a clear dribbling ability, Arsenal fans wish The Ox nothing but success in his next adventure.
