Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is ahead of his timeline for his implemented project. However, as much as the fans are on board, they are crying out for trophies, most notably the Premier League, to reward their loyalty to the cause. That said, the Spanish boss has been hard at work in the summer transfer window, making some difficult decisions which will deliver positive change.

One of those decisions is to release some of the fringe Arsenal players, those players who may have been clinging on for dear life in recent transfer windows, but needed to be released from the club for the long-term health of Arsenal. In the long run, clearing this deadwood, for lack of a better word, will only serve to improve Arsenal.

Four European clubs are linked to player who Arsenal recently released

One of those players, without a doubt, is Cedric Soares. While he was a handy squad player, it's simply confusing to wonder how he remained an Arsenal player until 2024 and survived two title races despite not making much of an impact in the squad. Well, finally this has changed as he is no longer an Arsenal player, amid the expiry of his contract.

According to a report from Standard, there are four big European clubs who are interested in signing Cedric Soares on a free deal now that he is a free agent. The report claims that Ajax, Nice, Olympiakos and Rennes are also interested in signing him. Currently the full-back is weighing up his options for his next move.

Having played in Portugal, Italy and England, Cedric Soares has experience in multiple European leagues. So far, he has never played in France, Netherlands OR Greece, so either of the four options would be new surroundings for Cedric.

From Arsenal's perspective, they will wish Cedric well in his new adventure. As mentioned, he did not provide much from a playing perspective but he was always a likeable guy. His personality behind the scenes should not be overlooked, as he will be missed by some of the friends he made at Arsenal.
