Arsenal have developed some truly incredible young players from their academy in recent times. The obvious beneficiaries include Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah. All of which have been in and around the first team since they graudated from Hale End.

Other examples such as Donyell Malen and Serge Gnabry have still been successful players, they just found their success by leaving the club at a young age for a new adventure. Unfortunately for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, one of their current young players is linked with a move away from the club.

Hale End graduate and former Tottenham starlet rejects Arsenal contract

According to a report from The Athletic, Arsenal academy graduate Reuell Walters is due to leave the club, after not agreeing to new terms. While Arsenal claim that Walters leaving the club is a mutual decision, Athletic claim that it is due to Walters rejected a contract offer, due to the player not feeling like it was the right move for his development.

It is believed that Reuell Walters will begin looking for a new club. The 19-year-old cannot begin talks with English clubs until May 18, as per his current contract. Therefore, by the end of the week, Walters is free to discuss a move to any English side.

Reuell Walters is a promising young player, having left with a good reputation from the Arsenal academy. Although he never made a senior appearance for Arsenal, the London-born defender is known as one of the best Arsenal scholars, having made the right decision to leave the Spurs academy to join Arsenal's in 2020.

Walters has been involved with Arsenal on their pre-season tours and he has been placed on the bench on a few occasions. So, despite not playing for the club domestically, he has picked up some invaluable experience around the first-team.

Walters has the versatility to play as a centre back but this position is tightly secured for many years to come, with Gabriel and William Saliba proving to be a locked down duo under Mikel Arteta.

It is understandable that he wishes to leave Arsenal, since his path to the first team does not look promising given the young nature of Arsenal's first-choice defence.

It is widely predicted that Reuell Walters will become a star no matter where he ends up. He is a hungry young player with his whole future ahead of him.
