Latest Arsenal transfer target has been endorsed by a Liverpool legend

Arsenal currently have no plans to sign a striker. However, if the transfer market has taught us anything as fans, it's to always expected the unexpected. Even in the Fabrizio Romano-era of transfers becoming very public, even at the earliest stages, clubs are still able to pull off deals in a fast and secretive manner.
It is all well and good for Arsenal to say they have no plans to sign a striker. However, if a golden opportunity presents itself in the final days of the transfer window being open, then Arteta and co would frankly be stupid to pass up the opportunity.
That said, it is no surprise to see another Arsenal transfer target emerge in the final week and change of the summer transfer window.
Latest Arsenal transfer target has been endorsed by a Liverpool legend
In case you didn't know, Arsenal are currently being linked with a move for Ademola Lookman of Atalanta. Yep... The former Everton striker who scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final.
According to a report from Football London, Arsenal have submitted a £42.5m bid to sign Lookman from Atalanta. Also, they are contemplating whether to use Jakub Kiwior, who is surplus to requirements in Arteta's squad, as part of the deal.
Within the report, the words of a Liverpool legend who knows Ademola Lookman well were cited. Brendan Rodgers, who Arsenal fans know very well since he was a contender to replace Arsene Wenger initially, has spoken very high words of endorsement about Lookman, who he worked with as Leicester City boss.
In his own words, Rodgers said: "He [Lookman] was absolutely brilliant. What a professional he is, the way he looks after himself, the extra work he does in training. Those goals that he scored [in the Europa League final], he practises those after training; he would always do extra training. His professionalism was unbelievable."
Professionalism and commitment to the game is a minimum requirement for Mikel Arteta. He manages in the same way he used to captain Arsenal, with an expectance of his players to fight for the badge. Therefore, this endorsement from Brendan Rodgers will come as music to Arteta's ears, should he wish to sign Lookman.
Do you think Arsenal should consider a late pursuit of Ademola Lookman?
