Arsenal's defensive prowess was on show in a 0-0 stalemate against Manchester City as neither side gave an inch in this potential title decider.

The Gunners defensive set up was a thing of beauty (if you're into that) as Pep Guardiola's attacking juggernaut failed to score a goal for the first time in 57 games as Mikel Arteta's Arsenal escaped with a vital point.

While the possession stats paint the picture of Arsenal being under constant pressure as we have seen in years gone by, in truth, the Gunner's defense held City's attacking forces at arm's length for the majority of the contest.

Arsenal kept City to just one shot on target while having two themselves as Arteta's side will be feeling better about the result.

"Grown-up" Gunners?

Trips to the Etihad have often been met with a sense of inevitability as the City juggernaut often slices and dices the Arsenal sides that enter.

It was 4-1 last season, which was the final nail in Arsenal's title charge, but this season, it felt like the Gunners had grown up and learned from last year's failings.

They didn't seem flustered being on the road and with City's vast array of attacking threats, the Gunners seemed to deal with whatever the hosts threw at them with relative ease.
