Mikel Arteta sets out Raheem Sterling plan ahead of Tottenham clash

Raheem Sterling was at the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal's draw against Brighton, but he didn't play. That could change for the upcoming Tottenham vs Arsenal clash.
It was hard to predict that Arsenal would make any notable signings on deadline day, let alone a player from one of their biggest rivals, Chelsea. Albeit only on loan, they pinched Raheem Sterling.
Raheem Sterling was out-of-favour at Chelsea, given the seemingly infinite number of players in their squad. Sterling is a Premier League legend, having played for Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. He will now add Arsenal to that illustrious list.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Raheem Sterling have a great relationship from their Man City days. Now, the Spanish boss has set out a plan for Sterling.

According to Standard, Raheem Sterling is prepared to get "straight to work" at Arsenal. The aim is to make Sterling ready and available for the North London derby, when Arsenal travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the September international break.
Raheem Sterling was not involved in Lee Carsley's first England squad. So, Sterling has under two weeks now to prepare for the North London derby.
It is believed that Raheem Sterling will study Arsenal's patterns of play and work out where he best fits in and how he can contribute. He does have a head-start in understanding Mikel Arteta's tactics, considering their work together in Manchester.
In his own words, Arteta said: "We have to try to find quick wins to get him up to speed as quick as possible and him understanding what we are looking for from him and the dynamics of the team. We will use this time to do that and as soon as possible, get him involved.”
Raheem Sterling has a rich history against Tottenham Hotspur already. For all of his previous clubs, the Englishman has scored a combined eight goals and provided five assists against Spurs.
Without a doubt, facing Tottenham will never mean as much to Sterling than it will representing Arsenal. He is in contention to play a role, but whether he starts remains to be seen.
In truth, it is hard to imagine Raheem Sterling starting the match. It seems that he is brought in to provide backup to Bukayo Saka. However, there could be space for Sterling to come off the bench and have an impact in the derby.
