Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brentford - Premier League
- Arsenal take on Brentford on Saturday evening
- Mikel Arteta likely to name unchanged team
- Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli expected to be available
Mikel Arteta has rarely had the luxury of naming unchanged teams since he was named Arsenal manager in December 2019.
Injuries, struggles with finding an optimal formula, and a demanding schedule have forced the boss to almost constantly rotate, but Arsenal's current imperious groove means changes are unlikely this weekend.
The Gunners were unchanged from their 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle at Sheffield United on Monday, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Brentford face up against the same XI on Saturday despite the upcoming second leg against FC Porto.
Here's how the Gunners could line up at the Emirates this weekend.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brentford - Premier League
Goalkeeper & Defenders
Aaron Ramsdale (GK) - With David Raya ineligible to face his parent club, Ramsdale, who was praised by Arteta ahead of Saturday's game, will make his first Premier League start since the reverse fixture.
Ben White (RB) - White produced an excellent month of football in the wake of the club's Dubai break. His status in the team is not in doubt.
William Saliba (CB) - Brentford haven't been quite as proficient on the counter this season in Bryan Mbeumo's absence, but Saliba must be wary of the Bees' in behind threat.
Gabriel (CB) - Ivan Toney will duel the Brazilian in what could be a decisive head-to-head match-up. Toney certainly has the tools to outwit Gabriel, who's been superb this season.
Jakub Kiwior (LB) - This is Kiwior's role to lose despite the potential returns of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Midfielders
Jorginho (CM) - The Italian lynchpin is emerging as a crucial figure for Arteta and he'll look to get an hour under his belt before Porto's visit.
Declan Rice (CM) - Rice is emerging as an underrated FPL asset and has already enjoyed the most prolific Premier League campaign of his career. He'll likely take up a more advanced role again on Saturday.
Martin Odegaard (CM) - The captain was outstanding in the 6-0 win at Sheffield United, with his utilisation in a deeper role thrusting Arteta's project into a new realm.
Forwards
Bukayo Saka (RW) - Illness failed to strike Saka down last time out, and the winger should be fresh for this fixture.
Kai Havertz (ST) - The German has thrived in recent outings and his physicality will undoubtedly come in handy against this Brentford defence.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - There are doubts over Martinelli's status for this one, but the boss was confident in his presser that the winger will be fit to feature after sustaining a cut at Bramall Lane.
