It's only taken him five-and-a-bit years, but it seems like Mikel Arteta has learned the art of rotation, and Arsenal will only benefit in the long run.
The boss made four changes from the side that beat Ipswich 1-0 to close out 2024 as the Gunners opened the new year with a come-from-behind 3-1 triumph over Brentford on New Year's Day.
The entire squad has a role to play amid a hectic January where Arsenal are aiming to reach the Carabao Cup final, keep pace with Liverpool at the Premier League summit, and conclude their Champions League league phase campaign on a high.
Up next is another tricky away day at Brighton. How many changes will Arteta make at the Amex?
Here's how we think the Gunners could line up on Saturday evening.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brighton
Goalkeeper & Defenders
David Raya (GK) - We didn't get the typical Raya serenity on New Year's Day, but he did at least end the contest without much fuss and should enter Saturday's bout with his confidence restored.
Thomas Partey (RB) - I don't want to put Partey here after his performance on Wednesday, but injuries and Jurrien Timber's suspension means Arteta doesn't have much choice.
William Saliba (CB) - With Partey likely to start at right-back, Saliba may be a busy boy with Brighton likely to feed Kaoru Mitoma in a bid to get at the out-of-position Ghanaian.
Gabriel (CB) - The Brazilian must be thrilled with what Ethan Nwaneri can produce from set-pieces. It's like Bukayo Saka's never gone away!
Riccardo Calafiori (LB) - Calafiori was rusty at Brentford but I expect Arteta to stick with him so he can build-up to his apex.
Midfielders
Declan Rice (DM) - Rice is a shoo-in to return to the XI having dropped to the bench on New Year's Day. Brighton will doubtlessly test the Englishman's positional sense given their tendency to create overloads between the lines.
Mikel Merino (CM) - Yes, I know he has value and does the dirty work, but Merino hasn't captured the imagination thus far. He does have huge potential in the final third, though, and we can only hope his strike last time out ignites a productive run.
Martin Odegaard (CM) - The skipper is still building connections down the right, and he's set to have another combination to work with on Saturday.
Forwards
Ethan Nwaneri (RW) - The teenager looks a natural fit in Saka's role, even if he interprets it differently. Arteta should stick with Nwaneri on Saturday after his bright showing in the win over Brentford.
Gabriel Jesus (ST) - Jesus' resurgence has come at an optimal time, and although Kai Havertz should be back in action, the Brazilian surely has to continue up top. He's got six goals in four games.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - There was life for Martinelli in the second half at the Gtech, and Brighton should give him the space he relishes. Jesus also played a key role in offering the left-hand side some life on Wednesday.
