Stressing to keep your Champions League hopes alive on Matchday 8? That could never be Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.
Chaos. Mayhem. Anarchy. It's all about to unfold on Wednesday night, but we should expect serenity from Catalonia as the Gunners take on Girona.
While Michel's continental novices are already eliminated, Arsenal are all but guaranteed a place in the round of 16. It shoud be a stress-free night.
The Gunners' secure status means Arteta will have one eye on Sunday's Premier League duel with Manchester City, and there's scope for the boss to rotate in midweek. Here's the team we think the Spaniard will pick back in his homeland.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Girona
Goalkeeper & Defenders
David Raya (GK) - Neto has gone AWOL since joining the club. In fact, I'm not sure he actually exists. We signed the idea of a back-up goalkeeper, not a real person.
Jurrien Timber (RB) - Respite is around the corner for Timber with Ben White on the comeback trail. However, Arteta will ask for a couple more big pushes from the Dutchman over the next few days.
William Saliba (CB) - Saliba was back in the team at the weekend having recovered from a minor hamstring injury. I think there will be changes to the backline, but Arteta doesn't have the capacity to completely change his defence from Saturday.
Jakub Kiwior (CB) - Gabriel should get a break and prepare for his duel with Erling Haaland on Sunday. Kiwior comes in for a rare start.
Myles Lewis-Skelly (LB) - Riccardo Calafiori will be relied upon while the teenager serves his suspension, so it makes sense for Lewis-Skelly, who's available on Wednesday, to start over Saturday's match-winner.
Midfielders
Jorginho (DM) - The Italian continues to be linked with a move away before the January deadline, but I doubt that this will be the last team we see him in an Arsenal shirt.
Mikel Merino (CM) - The Spaniard likely won't be included in the starting lineup against Man City, and Arteta could return him to his XI here after missing the win at Molineux with a knock.
Martin Odegaard (CM) - Odegaard missed out through illness at the weekend but is back in training and could get the nod on Wednesday in a bid to get up to speed ahead of Sunday. He could do with an hour.
Forwards
Raheem Sterling (RW) - Arteta doesn't have much wiggle room with his attacking options, so we could see the unfavoured Sterling come back in for the less consequential outing of the week.
Kai Havertz (ST) - Havertz is knackered, but Arteta rarely offers the German respite. However, if he does start, I hope he only gets an hour under his belt.
Leandro Trossard (LW) - Trossard is starting to produce the goods again after a tough start to the season. The Belgian is in excellent form, particularly as a playmaker, with his delivery from the left playing a key role in Arsenal's recent attacking success.
