Arsenal make the trip to Sunderland this afternoon as they look to continue their winning form to sign off for the international break on a high note.

The Gunners won 3-0 at Slavia Prague in their previous game. Bukayo Saka put his side ahead with a first-half penalty before Mikel Merino sealed the win with a brace after the break.

With Sunderland set to provide his side with a tough test, Mikel Arteta will likely field the strongest team he can at the Stadium of Light. However, in classic Arsenal fashion, he will have to deal with a few injuries when selecting the squad.

Here's how the Gunners could line up against the Black Cats.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - In other news, water is wet.

Jurrien Timber (RB) - There's not much to argue against him being one of the best right backs in the world right now and his fine ability will be on display once again at Sunderland.

William Saliba (CB) - The Frenchman will continue in defence and will be hoping to keep yet another crucial clean sheet.

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) - He will partner Saliba and will share his ambitions of a shutout. His dominance in the air will be key to Arsenal's set piece play as always.

Riccardo Calafiori (LB) - His great start to the season isn't showing any signs of slowing down and he'll keep Lewis-Skelly at bay once again.

Midfielders

Eberechi Eze (CM) - He has continued to look good in the central midfield role and he will remain in the position today.

Martín Zubimendi (CM) - After missing the Champions League action due to suspension, he'll return to the base of midfield against Sunderland.

Declan Rice (CM) - He has been simply brilliant throughout the opening months of the campaign and his role will be crucial as he comes up against the man he replaced in Granit Xhaka.

Forwards

Bukayo Saka (RW) - He got on the scoresheet in midweek and will be looking to have the same impact at the Stadium of Light as he starts on the right flank.

Mikel Merino (ST) - His makeshift striker heroics continued at Slavia Prague and he could cause a problem or two up front once again.

Leandro Trossard (LW) - The Belgian is in good form and as Arsenal's only fit winger option, he will start once again on the left side.
