The Gunners are in action in the Carabao Cup with a chance to rest some key players.
Arsenal is in action against Port Vale in the Carabao Cup, and the chance has presented itself for Mikel Arteta to ring the changes to give fringe players a chance to strut their stuff.
But the biggest question is, should he?
Granted, plenty of players have been riding the bench so far this season, with little to no gametime, so against what could be seen as lesser opposition, this feels like the time to swing a host of changes to give those in need of minutes, possibly a full game.
But will Arteta pull that trigger?
"Yes, it's a lot of players that are going to take part in that, and they fully deserve the minutes," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "Kepa, for sure, is one of them. He's been with us, his attitude, the way he supports us in every aspect of his role in the best possible manner. All this as well, they deserve more minutes than what they're getting."
Who should Arsenal bring into the starting side?
There are a couple of easy ones with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben White, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Cristhian Mosquera in defense.
But further up the pitch it gets interesting.
Ethan Nwaneri and Christian Norgaard should come into midfield, with both needing to push their case for more starting minutes, and maybe up top, Leandro Trossard comes in for Viktor Gyokeres.
As for Bukayo Saka, easing him in is the right way to go, but starting against Port Vale? Thanks, but not thanks, so coming off the bench for another 30 or so minutes would be ideal with the game in hand.
While Gabriel Martinelli might get the start after scoring both times coming off the bench last week as the Gunners need to rotate their squad. Also look out for Max Dowman and a host of other younger players to possibly feature.
But make no mistake about it, Arteta will rotate against Port Vale, as he should.
