When Kai Havertz went down, it signaled that Arsenal was in trouble in the goal-scoring department, and it has turned out to be true.
Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest is the latest example of the attacking setup failing to produce the goods as the Gunners are now struggling to score goals.
With Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli all sidelined, Mikel Arteta has had to get creative to try and find solutions to the issues up forward, but so far, aside from a six-minute blitz from Mikel Merino against Leicester City, the Gunners have fallen flat.
So much so that Liverpool's lead at the summit of the Premier League is now a monster 13 points, and while there are still 11 games to go, with Arsenal's lack of attacking options, for most, the title is as good as gone.
What is stopping Arsenal from scoring goals?
In truth, the lack of options up top, and Arteta only has so many levers he can pull. Without investment in January, the club hamstrung Arteta and now is paying the price for it.
But with so many games still left and no obvious quick or clear fix, how will the Gunners be able to keep pushing and finish the year in a respectable position?
“This team always gives you reasons to believe, to keep going," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "The frustration comes from knowing that when you control a game like this, you have to win it. But in this league, the margins are so small, and unfortunately, we didn’t find a way to score.”

Arsenal was in control for large portions against Forest, but lacked the firepower to take advantage of it and just one shot on target from 13 attempts isn't a sustainable way to live in the Premier League.
In the last two games, Arsenal has had a combined 33 shots on the opposition goal, and just three of them were on target, and you could make the case, that has just two of those gone in, the Gunners might have had six points from those outings.
But the lack of a goal-scoring is crippling the team right now, and yes, it also is fine margins, because the movement of a Saka or Martinelli, or the intelligence of Havertz in the box could make more, and easier goal scoring opportunities.
Right now, Arsenal looks rudderless in attack, and in the Premier League, that's a tough way to live.
