Arsenal comes up against Man United away from home in their first match of the Premier League season. Needless to say, there couldn't be a better opening weekend fixture for neutral Premier League fans, since this is the rivalry that made the Premier League what it is today.

Historically in the fixture, both sides have not been able to wear their home kits. This is because, as luck would have it, they both play in red. So, due to rules around kit color clashes, at least one team, sometimes even both, has had to wear subordinate color schemes.

Well, this season will be no different. The rules haven't changed and, less surprisingly, neither side has changed their colors.

However, the rule change does swing massively into Arsenal's favor this time around.

Arsenal kit revealed for Man United game

According to sources on X, Arsenal is bound to play in their third kit for the opening weekend. It will be their first time repping the third kit since it was unveiled, making its debut at Old Trafford of all places.

It's important to stress that third choice doesn't mean third best. In fact, you could even argue the opposite to be true - Arsenal's third choice kit is their best kit in a long time.

It features a white base, maroon logos and golden details. It also has a collar, which tends to go down well with a modern crowd. It's a modern kit with a classy, retro feel about it. In fact, this kit wouldn't look out of place in a swanky restaurant.

Fair to say, Arsenal fans are over the moon with this kit reveal. It went down well when Arsenal first announced it, and now that it's the rumored kit for Sunday's fixture, fans are best pleased. There couldn't be a better place to debut the kit than Old Trafford.

One fan said "Wow! This would be brilliant," while another said "The jersey is giving a winning aura."

There will be a few new players playing for Arsenal this weekend, so what better way to mark the occasion than with a modern classic?

Of course, Arsenal has played in better kits in the past that aren't remembered well due to the players wearing them. This kit is similar to the one that Nike produced for the Away number in 2007/08 - the less said about that season, the better.

So, Arsenal can make this third kit a better kit by making great memories in it. That all starts against Man United on Sunday evening.
