This season has not gone entirely as Arsenal would have hoped, but it ended on a high at home. On Wednesday night, Stina Blackstenius' stoppage time winner saw the Gunners snatch a last gasp 1-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates. As a result, given that their goal difference is superior by 14, the Gunners require just a draw at Anfield on Saturday to secure automatic Champions League qualification at Chelsea's expense.
This victory also means Renée Slegers is still yet to lose a WSL home game since being appointed manager in October 2024. During this time, Arsenal have now faced all 12 other WSL teams, including relegated Crystal Palace, with Everton completing the set.

In this season's WSL, Arsenal have been beaten only once, defeated by champions Manchester City at Joie Stadium in October; Chloe Kelly equalising late on, only for Iman Beney to snatch victory right at the death. Nevertheless, this means the Gunners have gone through the entire campagin undefeated in North London, winning eight of 11 matches, only failing to beat Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United. So, how many times have they achieved this previously?

A we know, Arsenal were the preeminent dominant force in English women's football, winning 14 league titles between 1993 and 2012. Thus, the Gunners regularly went entire campaigns undefeated in the '90s and 2000s, not just at home, often winning every single home game.
In 2006/07 for example, Vic Akers' side won all 22 matches, scoring 119 goals conceding only ten, also picking up the FA Cup, the League Cup, the London County Cup, the Community Shied and their first UEFA Women's Cup, the precursor to the Champions League.
In more modern times however, the Gunners' dominance has subsided, due to the rise of Chelsea and Manchester City in particular. Nevertheless, this is still the third time in modern WSL history that Arsenal have gone an entire league season unbeaten at home. Curiously though, they've not actually been crowned champions in any of those campaigns.
Nevertheless, the Emirates very much feels like home for Slegers' side. They remained unbeaten there throughout the season across all competitions, winning 11 of 14 fixtures. This includes beating Chelsea and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin during Champions League knockout phase first legs, as well as picking up the inaugural FIFA Women's Champions Cup in February, beating Corinthians 3-2 after extra time. Thus, all Gooners will hope they can come back stronger next time round, chasing a first league title since 2019.
