Arsenal have been affected by a disturbing trend in every Premier League match so far this season.

Noni Madueke's fitness blow in the draw with Manchester City means the Gunners have lost at least one player to injury in each of their league games throughout the early stages of the campaign, sparking plenty of concern among the club's fanbase.

Injuries have taken their toll on Mikel Arteta's side over the past few seasons and it doesn't look like that is going to let up any time soon.

Madueke's knee injury against City saw him become the fifth different player to suffer a fitness problem despite Arsenal playing just five games so far in the league.

Kai Havertz was the first to be on the wrong end of this trend when he underwent surgery after picking up an injury in the opening weekend win at Manchester United. Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard then followed, both suffering respective issues in a 5-0 victory over Leeds.

Defender William Saliba was withdrawn just five minutes into a huge clash against Liverpool at Anfield and subsequently missed the following two games.

Shortly after making his return, Ødegaard picked up another shoulder injury in a win over Nottingham Forest and is aiming to recover and make his comeback soon.

Along with these problems suffered on the pitch, Ben White and Christian Nørgaard have also missed a number of games due to battling their own injuries.

With an injury picked up in every league game so far this season, this is clearly a disturbing and concerning trend for Arsenal. Some will question and criticise the club's fitness and physio team while others will blame the congested fixture schedule they face.

Regardless, there is no denying this is a huge problem for the Gunners and something they will hope doesn't continue as the season progresses. No matter how often fans and others want to blame injuries though, issues on the fitness front have caused Arsenal a number of issues and continue to do so.

Arteta takes his side to St James' Park to face Newcastle this afternoon and will be hoping this trend comes to an end on Tyneside.
