Eberechi Eze, even though he has given Arsenal a lot of good moments this season, is still leaving a lot to be desired in his first season at the club, as he was signed from Crystal Palace for a very high fee.

In the six months that he has been at the club, the Englishman has not impressed in many of the games that he has played.

There is no doubt that he has the quality to be an Arsenal player, and if he is at his best, a starting spot in the Arsenal lineup is easily on the cards, but until he is consistently performing, that will just not happen.

Fans have seen Eze's absolute highs when he scored the hat-trick against Tottenham, or the brace against Tottenham a few days ago, but they have also seen his lows, when he has gone many games without scoring or assisting a single goal for the club.

This stat perfectly sums up Eberechi Eze's first season at Arsenal

Eze has scored six goals for Arsenal this season. Five of them have come against Arsenal's biggest rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, and the only other goal that he scored was against his old club, Crystal Palace.

Obviously, scoring five goals against Spurs is a really good thing for any player to do, irrespective of how they have been doing during the season. The only goal that he did not score against Tottenham came against his former club, which is really ironic.

The worrying part is that there is a lot of room for improvement for Eze. It is not like he forgets how to play football in the games where he is not playing against Tottenham and Crystal Palace, but he just isn't able to show his best performances consistently.

That has been the issue with him all this time, and hopefully the game against Chelsea, if he does play in that, is another good performance from him because he needs it. Arsenal need it as well, because the ceiling of this team is raised so much higher when Eze is playing good football.

It also proves some of the haters wrong about him only scoring against two teams if he is able to score an important goal in a game that could definitely influence the title race. Obviously, he does not have to score to be good. He can still have a good game without scoring.

The main thing that Arsenal need from him is consistency and good performances. That is what they need. That is what they have paid all this money for, and hopefully that is what they start getting from this week on.
