Tottenham outrage over Gabriel exposes awkward Harry Kane truth

It is still absolutely hilarious that Tottenham fans were annoyed by Gabriel.

Arsenal beat Tottenham by a clear three goals. Those goals were well deserved, however, some Tottenham fans clung to the fact that they probably deserved a second themselves. They pointed the blame at Gabriel for making a meal out of a push and winning a foul... That's probably a lesson he learned from Harry Kane, though.

At the other end of the pitch, Harry Kane did what Gabriel was hounded for, on multiple occasions. You couldn't go near Kane as a defender; if he even breathed the same air as you, he'd go down in the box and appeal for a penalty.

When a Tottenham legend does it, it's fine, but when Gabriel does it, fans don't like it.

Gabriel capitalized on the ludicrous state of the game

Truth be told, it is absolutely ridiculous that it was considered a foul. However, it is considered a foul, and Gabriel made the most of that ludicrous rule. Harry Kane did it, and no Tottenham fan complained about the rule then.

The game is infamously different now to what it was a decade ago. In the age of VAR where all elements of subjectivity are removed, Gabriel could feel hands on his back, so he went to ground.

Randal Kolo Muani scored, but every fan in the away end knew what was about to happen. The goal was disallowed, and going by the rules of the game (as stupid as they are), it was the right call.

For once, an Arsenal team is strategic in its decision-making. Other teams have long made a name for themselves by digging into the loopholes of these rules. It's high time Arsenal caught up with the trend, and Gabriel is a figurehead in this.

Arsenal beat Tottenham... Let's not forget that

Arsenal fans won't care how they got the victory against Tottenham, the fact of the matter is that they won away from home again. Playing Tottenham away is starting to feel like a home game for the Gunners.

Obviously, Gabriel took to social media after the game to mock Tottenham. Most notably, he mocked Richarlison, who infamously came on and did absolutely nothing.

It was a solid defensive performance from Gabriel, which surprised absolutely nobody. He has improved leaps and bounds over the years, to the point we can comfortably say he's Arsenal's best defender.

Tottenham's only goal came from a rare Declan Rice mistake. The Englishman's performance elsewhere more than made up for his error.

The main takeaway for Arsenal fans is that they are one step closer to the Premier League title. The main takeaway for Tottenham fans is that they are one step closer to Premier League relegation.
