Arsenal have started this season poorly, considering their objectives. The Gunners head into this tie 4th in the table. It is worth noting, though, that West Ham haven't covered themselves in glory either, currently 14th in the table.

Arsenal have only shipped six goals past West Ham on one occasion, and it happened to be the most recent match. Arsenal had a turbulent start to the 2024 campaign, in high-flying goal-scoring form.
In this London derby, the goals were scored by William Saliba, Bukayo Saka x2, Gabriel, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice. Of course, neither set of fans will forget about that Declan Rice thunderbolt.

Arsenal went through horrid form in the middle of the 2023/24 season, with this game coming in the middle of losses to Aston Villa, Fulham and Liverpool (FA Cup). Perhaps the standout moment of this unfortunate loss was conceding to former Arsenal star Konstantinos Mavropanos.
West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

Goal scorers: White (OG), Kudus, Bowen; Odegaard
Arsenal were eliminated from the 2023/24 EFL Cup in round 4, by none other than West Ham United. It was an awful game from start to finish by Arsenal's standards, with captain Martin Odegaard only managing a consolation goal in injury time.

Arsenal appeared to be storming to the 2022/23 Premier League title. That was until consecutive draws against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton halted their progress. This one was particularly haunting, considering Arsenal went two goals ahead in rapid time, then dropped two points.

The first game back after the 2022 World Cup halted the Premier League. Arsenal arrived back in style, even with the unfortunate Gabriel Jesus injury. Rapid-fire second half goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah saw the Gunners turnover a one-goal deficit.
