Arsenal fans have found a unified voice when it comes to Viktor Gyokeres. There's one thing about his goal-scoring that the Gunners just love.
Over the last two decades, the Arsenal fanbase has felt more and more disenfranchised. In the prime "banter era" of the club, it was difficult for fans to form a unified decision about where the club should head, so it felt quite hostile at times.
However, in more recent history, thinking about the post-COVID era, the Arsenal fanbase has been a much more joyous and unified place. Key transfers such as Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice have helped this feeling, and the Gunners might be adding one more star.
Viktor Gyokeres' play style is messy but effective
In light of all the recent goings-on with Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing about his playing style - Messy, but gets the job done.
One fan on Reddit said: "[Gyokeres] is not the cleanest player to watch but knows how to put the ball in the back of the net and that’s basically what we need. Really excited for this signing."
Another said: "Power, speed and determination. Everything we have been missing in a 9."
At the end of the day, this is the only thing that matters for Arsenal fans: the fact that he gets the job done.
Sure, his dribbling style or work off the ball might be unorthodox, but he scores goals, and this is exactly what Arsenal needs to be taken seriously in the title race. After all, over the last few seasons, it's been Arsenal's inability to finish their dinner which has cost them.
Arsenal has needed a serious goal threat for years
Growing up in the beginning of the Emirates Stadium era, I'm sure many fans can relate to hearing "Arsenal try to pass it into the net."
While it was frustrating to hear that same narrative on repeat, there can be no denying that there was some truth behind it. The Gunners played beautiful football, but struggled to shoot at times.
In truth, Arsenal has been calling out for a striker who can make a goal out of nothing. Ever since Alexandre Lacazette left, there has been no striker who can shoot as hard as he could.
But Gyokeres can do that. He knows how to find the net and he can make a goal for himself if nobody else will. This is why Arsenal fans are, and should, incredibly excited by this signing.
