Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich: Betting Odds

This season is going way too well. My old Arsenal senses are tingling in expectation for a week where the Gunners lose every game and their season is over. I thought that maybe this week could be it. A loss to Swansea and the enemy either side of a demolition at the hands of Bayern Munich sprinkled with injuries for good measure could well have been the end of the 2015 season as we know it. Thankfully, Arsene Wenger’s men seem to have a resolve that previous Arsenal teams have simply not shown. This resolve is going to be tested to its fullest on Wednesday night against arguably the most in form team in the world.

So, what do the bookies see happening in the Allianz Arena? Well, they can’t see much else but a Bayern victory. The Germans are priced at 4/11 with Arsenal at a huge 7/1. Even the draw is at 4/1 which it massive. The last time Arsenal were such outsiders is when they faced Bayern in the Champions League knockout stages two years ago. That is not, however, a detriment to the Gunners. It simply pays testament to the quality of Bayern Munich.

Manuel Neuer has been dismissive of Arsenal counter-attacking style in recent days, and after the 0-0 draw against Frankfurt at the weekend, Munich must be careful to not slip into complacency. Arsenal have the quality to beat anyone on their day, and although Bayern are rightfully heavy favorites, at a price of 7/1, Arsenal cannot be dismissed. The draw at 4/1 is the best option as you can expect Arsenal to employ similar tactics as their home match up, keeping the game tight and looking to exploit Bayern on the counter.

If you are backing the Bayern victory, look towards Robert Lewandowski to score and Bayern to win at 1/1 or Thomas Muller to score and Bayern to win at 5/4. They are much more favored prices for such heavy favorites. This could quite well be the toughest game of the season for Arsenal, and with a multitude of injuries, Bayern have to be fancied to take victory.
