Arsenal All Time Starting Eleven
GK: Jens Lehmann
It is fair to say that Arsenal has struggled with it’s keepers in recent seasons. The smokey Pole, Almunia, and other goalies that clearly were not Arsenal quality. However, two goalies stand out for this starting position but one misses the cut barely, that being Seaman.
Honestly, I had Seaman as my starter the entire time I was preparing this team, I had him as I started writing the article. But Jens Lehmann was not only the goalie for the Invincles, was not nonly immensely talented, but he had a huge impact on the culture change at Arsenal during those years.

From watching the Invincibles documentary and hearing some of the players discuss the locker room culture and the players who had major roles within that context, Lehmann was at the forefront. He constantly demanded the absolute best from all those around him, no matter who it was. Many people say he was mental, and that is because he was, but it couldn’t have been more effective.
You could argue Seaman was the more talented player between the sticks, and you could argue he had a impact on the team’s culture as well. Yet, for me, Lehmann’s impact is unparalleled due to the success the team had, especially defensively.
