Arsenal Vs Aston Villa Predictions
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal face the worst team in the league to try to leap frog into first place. Here are the staff predictions from Pain in the Arsenal.
Arsenal have an opportunity to jump into first place and then wait patiently for the Leicester City and Chelsea result to see if they remain there. Facing the bottom club in the league in the blue and claret army, Arsenal will be expected to pull a very convincing three points. The staff here seems to agree. Here are the predictions.

Brian: Arsenal 2-0 Aston Villa
This is a tough one to predict. This year Aston Villa has been able to keep Man City from scoring and end that game in a draw. However, they also followed that impressive performance with a 4-0 loss to Everton. I have only been predicting Arsenal draws or losses since the loss of Coq but with Sanchez coming back, Joel Campbell clicking and Arsenal on a high I think I can comfortably say I am starting to regain some confidence in this team.
Although Arsenal are at Aston Villa, Villa has proven they will give up goals at home or away, and they will struggle to score. So a 2-0 prediction is not due to my increased confidence and reaction to Arsenal’s recent results but because Aston Villa are just not that impressive so far this year. Rest assured, I will say this now, but next week I am going to go back to Arsenal losing or drawing against Man City.
Finn: Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa
The Gunners are coming off one of the best results they have earned all season, and their momentum will be too powerful for the struggling Villains.
Olivier Giroud is in hot form after his hat-trick and I wouldn’t be surprised if he scored again against Villa’s weak defense. Being on single-digit points after fifteen games is terrible for any Premier League side. It serves to indicate that Aston Villa could be going down unless they pull off a Leicester-esque escape.
Thomas: Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa
Arsenal won’t let anything slip against Aston Villa on Sunday. The Gunners will pick up a comfortable 3-0 win at Villa Park. Walcott and Ozil will lead the way in attack, and both will end up on the scoresheet. The back line and Cech will show their strength again, and Wenger will get his tactics right.
Andy: Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa
Villa are the worst team in the Premier League right now. Arsenal are one of the best and are coming off one of the greatest European nights in the club’s recent history. That adds up to one result, and one result only. A good old pummelling.
Look for Olivier Giroud to continue his goal scoring form alongside Mesut Ozil displaying his genius once again. This could be a riot, and in the best way possible. 4-0 to the Gunners.
Jabari: Arsenal 2-0 Aston Villa
Arsene Wenger has warned his players not to take Aston Villa lightly. There are no easy games in the Premier League and although our commanding victory at Wembley last May is still fresh in our minds, the Gunners will need to play this fixture with all the focus and precision they can muster. A slip up here is unacceptable and with Villa fighting for their premier league future, I suspect we will get a fiesty and hungry opposition.
Remi Garde’s appointment is certainly intriguing. The Frenchman was one of Arsene Wenger’s first signings at Arsenal, and it will be interesting to see him go toe to toe with his former coach. I think we will see an Arsenal team of old. Holding onto the ball for most of the game, squandering alot of chances, but in the end, getting enough to win.
Josh: Arsenal 5-0 Aston Villa
I know I shouldn’t do it. But I am. Arsenal has had the biggest morale boost of the season in the Champions League. They scraped out three points against Sunderland previously as well. This is going to be a game where Arsenal will have a full tank of confidence, morale and conviction.

But there will also be a safe degree of relaxation. Not the dangerous kind that can turn into complacency, but the kind that allows them to play the fluid style that typifies this club without drowning in pressure and worry.
Giroud will score. He will score twice. I also foresee Ramsey scoring, Campbell scoring and Ozil scoring two. It’s going to be beauteous.
Nasra: Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa
Max: Arsenal 2-0 Aston Villa
First of all, a huge congratulations is in order for the Gunners after their enormous victory in the final group game of the Champions League – with their backs against the wall and the odds stacked against them, Arsenal had arguably their best performance (especially Giroud) of the season so far. They were deadly in attack and dominant at the back. That win was a huge confidence booster.

And they can use that confidence to finish strong in the final few matches of 2015 in the Premier League, starting with a date against a heavily struggling Aston Villa this Sunday at Villa Park. The Villans have amassed a measly 6 points from 15 games and haven’t won a Premier League game since their 1st game of the season against Bournemouth.
Once again, Arsenal are the heavy favorites to win on paper, but how many times this season have they been favored to win and then came out completely empty? Too many times, that’s for sure.
Having said that, Arsenal will have too much firepower for a despondent Villa side to put up any sort of fight and pull out any sort of result. Giroud will score another header and Ramsey will score a cracker. Oh, and Ozil will assist at least one of those goals.
