Arsenal: 20 Greatest Goals Of Last 20 Years
6. Sylvain Wiltord vs. Manchester United May 8, 2002
Skill: 2- Sylvain Wiltord’s name is forever etched into Arsenal lore. He may not have been the most technically adroit player to ever play at Highbury, but he was extremely reliable in big moments. Just for being in the right place at the right time, Wiltord get’s credit on my part. The goal looks easy but it was at slightly tight angle. Also, the good solo work of Freddie Ljungberg to set it up makes this a fun goal to watch over and over.

Opponent: 5- This season was another one of Arsenal’s great battles with the Red Devils. Thanks to this goal, they narrowly missed the league title and fell to second underneath the Gunners.
Significance: 5- Scoring against Manchester United, at Old Trafford to win the league and seal the double. “We won the league at Old Trafford”, enough said.
Bonus: Wiltord had a knack for scoring big goals against United. In the following season Arsenal failed to retain their Premiership crown, but did however hold onto their FA Cup silverware. Thanks in large part to this slick goal from Sylvain Wiltord once again on away soil.
