Arsenal Rumors: Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Nacho Monreal At Risk?
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are succeeding thanks to a handful of players stepping up. Naturally, other teams are going to start swarming for those players.
There was a time when Arsenal had no choice but to sell their star players. The Emirates cost a lot of money after all. Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie and Bacary Sagna all dipped out of the club for one reason or another. They all went straight to or ended up at a direct Premier League rival. Why? Some attributed it to Arsene Wenger’s lack of direction. Some wanted to win now and not wait out Arsenal’s plan.

Naturally, since Arsenal is yet again rocking out some pretty stellar players, other teams are swarming for those players. Including direct EPL rivals.
We will start with Nacho Monreal. I used to preach about how Kieran Gibbs needed to take the starting role from Monreal. Slowly but surely I came to understand why Monreal was solidified as the starter. Now that I have finally come to terms with it, there are rumors that he may be leaving for Athletic Bilbao.

It is known that Monreal wants to go back to his homeland at some point. He is now 29 years old so it probably will not be that far into the future. For that reason, this is the most believable of the exit rumors. And yet there is still a bit of doubt. Monreal has committed to the club. Plus, Arsenal is going places.
Mesut Ozil is supposedly being hounded by his former home, Real Madrid. With James Rodriguez potentially eyeing an exit, the club from the Spanish capital would much rather prefer to overspend on a player than give someone like Isco his long-deserved chance.
Mesut Ozil is not leaving. We don’t have to worry about that. He has come to learn what the faith this club has can lead to. He has stated his love for Arsenal and he is on the fast track to legendary status at Arsenal. He is not going to leave that behind for something he has already had.

Real Madrid is not only after Ozil. They are also after Alexis Sanchez, as are Manchester City. At least according to the rumors. But what those two clubs lack, Arsenal have. Remember, Alexis chose Arsenal. He has fallen into the culture at the club, a culture that Real Madrid and City cannot duplicate – especially City.
Alexis Sanchez is on the same track as Mesut Ozil. Again, there is no gain to leaving that behind.
