Arsenal’s 10 Best Signings Ever Under Arsene Wenger
By Josh Sippie
5. Laurent Koscielny
Laurent Koscielny was bought from Lorient for £8.45 million. Think about that. For that small fee, Arsene Wenger acquired the man who has become the best defender in England (via SkySports power rankings). Koscielny has become irreplaceable on the back line. The man hardly ever makes a mistake. He even scores goals.

Koscielny will never leave Arsenal, because I said so, but his value nowadays is said to be about three times what Arsene Wenger paid for him. There was a time when he was getting looked at by Real Madrid. You know, that really good team in Spain that wins everything.
Koscielny embodies what a ‘good signing’ looks like. He is one of Arsene Wenger’s prized gems. But he may not even be the best defender that Le Prof has ever ‘bought’.
Moving onto number four, we get to another Invincible. There can never be too many Invincibles.
