Arsenal: Cohen Bramall Getting Gobsmacked Into Serious Proposition
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal’s rumored new boy Cohen Bramall was has admitted to being gobsmacked at training with the Gunners, but he is in a serious spot.
Arsenal look set to lock up the services of young left back Cohen Bramall. The 20 year old left back has been noticed by the ever-watchful eyes of Arsene Wenger and beyond all probability, he looks set to make six league jump from Hednesford Town to Arsenal.

This is a massive leap and one of the biggest transfer stretches in Arsene Wenger’s history of transfer stretches.
It is such an improbable story that Bramall has admitted that he himself is “gobsmacked”. And that was just after having his trial. If he is truly a Gunner now, as numerous reputable sources are reporting, then the gobsmacking will reach record levels.
But this is a serious situation that Bramall has landed himself in. I think it’s safe to say none of us expected him to be our left back solution, and to be fair, he might not be. But I can’t help but think about how many chances Wenger gave Yaya Sanogo before he was finally given an extended leave of absence which should give way to a permanent dismissal.
Or the greatest comeback story ever.

Bramall has a lot on his plate though because his opportunities are going to come and he is going to have to adjust. He is already 20 years old, which puts him right in Hector Bellerin’s ballpark. No one expects him to be the next Bellerin, but clearly Wenger sees something in him and sees him as the future of the left back position.
Which, as mentioned, is coming faster than you would think. With Gibbs probably wanting to get away from the club or, at the very least, unable to stay healthy, the mantle falls on Nacho Monreal for the long haul, and that haul won’t be that long. Age is a mean thing to certain players. While keepers and central defenders can stretch it, but fullbacks? Not as much.
Bramall could feasibly be called upon within the next couple of years. We were talking about the stretch from seventh tier to U23s, but to expand that to having to land in the first team within a year or two, the stretch gets even dicier.

It’s probably best not to hype up this signing too much, but we need a left back going forward and Bramall has to at least touch on the fringe area of being that guy.
