Arsenal: Jon Toral Remaining Stoically Undaunted
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral has completed his inexplicable loan move to Rangers, but his primary objective remains true to the Gunners.
Arsenal‘s young Spanish midfielder Jon Toral has completed the loan switch from Granada to Scottish side Rangers in a move that has had me up in arms for the past few weeks. As if Wenger didn’t screw the pooch enough with Serge Gnabry, now he is trying the same thing with Jon Toral.

In the same La Masia class as world-class Hector Bellerin, Jon Toral has done about all he can do. He has gotten progressively better out on loan, he has shown an ability to play out side or centrally. He is big enough to play deep and fast enough to play forward.
The Spaniard even took home Birmingham City’s player of the year award last year while on his most successful loan yet. It was that loan move that should have given way to his introduction to the Gunner’s first team, but Wenger thought otherwise.
Now that the midfield has just two able-bodied individuals, the opportunity was yet again there for Toral to make an impact. And again, Wenger thought otherwise.
Yet none of this has fazed Toral in the slightest. One thing I have always admired about him is his steadfastness in his objective. He wants to make it at Arsenal.

While at Birmingham City, all he kept saying was he just wanted to make the Gunner’s first team. Not even Jack Wilshere is saying that over at Bournemouth.
Toral’s loan move is nice and fresh and again he has spoken up about his personal goals this season.
“My personal objective is just to help the team finish as high as we can. I want to get as many minutes as I can and finish the season strong. I have another year left on my contract at Arsenal and I hope I can go back and make the step up to the first team.”
Can’t get much more dedicated than that. It’s like when Joel Campbell kept asserting how he wanted to make it in North London. After awhile, I just want to ask why? They haven’t been fair to you and you’ve done nothing but prove you deserve a proper chance. So why are you so dedicated?

Toral will have one season to prove enough to earn a new contract. Again, that seems tragically unfair, but if he is that dedicated to the cause, surely he can do it.
