5. Ted Drake

We are now getting into those unanimous Arsenal strikers that should compose every similar list out there. It all starts with this man, Edward Joseph Drake.

Drake did some amazing things for the Gunners. For starters, he won two First Division Titles in 1934-35 and 1937-18 as well as the FA Cup in 1936. Throughout all these titles, he was without a doubt the Gunners most important player, as the goals simply never stopped coming.

More from Arsenal All-Time Lists

Take for instance that one time he scored seven goals against Aston Villa, a record that still stands to this day as the most goals ever scored in a single outing.

Drake scored 44 goals in the 1934-35 title winning season, a club record that, not surprisingly, still holds to this day.

Through it all, Drake accumulated 139 goals in 184 matches for an absolutely stupid .75 goals per match. Something we just won’t see again in England any time soon.

Despite injuries and having to serve in the War, Drake will always remain as one of the best to ever don the red and white.

And then there were four. Although it must be stated that the two strikers ranking in at third and fourth were tied on our lists, so they will be joint third-places.
