Arsenal: Alexis Sanchez Italy Retreat Completely Harmless
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal were indeed thrashed by Bayern Munich and afterwards, Alexis Sanchez flew to Italy. Scared? I don’t blame you. But don’t be! This is harmless.
Arsenal are actually at a breaking point. After a bout a decade of frustrations and not being able to push through for that final end product, the Gunners may actually be at a point now where drastic changes are coming.

After losing to Bayern Munich, Alexis Sanchez was clearly at a breaking point. Hunched over at the touchline, he had nothing to be ashamed of (other than his team mates). The Chilean, as always, did everything he could to lift a crumbling team but it just wasn’t to be.
To add more fuel to the fire of his exit speculation, the forward wasted no time retreating to Italy, where well-known suitors Juventus will be waiting with open arms.
Only, that’s not actually what’s happening.
While the timing couldn’t be worse, Alexis’s trip to Italy is a personal trip. As Chris Wheatley at Goal.com states – nothing odd about it.
Let me say it again for good measure – there is nothing to see here. Move along. These are not the stories you are looking for.
The problem is that this will not stop here. You just know that Italian publications are swarming the streets of Italy, looking for any reason to cast doubt over this little sabbatical and tie Alexis to Juventus or Napoli or Milan or Genoa or literally anywhere else. Simply because this is the perfect time to do it and it will get page views and they are tabloids.
Alexis Sanchez still has a year left on his contract and there is still plenty of time to sway his opinion back towards staying in North London. And I say all of that assuming he is now leaning towards leaving, which I don’t think there is any proof of other than disappointment. But who wasn’t disappointed?

It’s going to be hard to do, but do yourself a favor and avoid headlines talking about Alexis for the next couple of weeks. He has stated recently that he is still dedicated to the Arsenal cause and with drastic changes likely coming on the horizon, he may have more reason to stay than ever before.
