Arsenal: There are far worse ideas than Eddie Nketiah
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal will be scrounging for ideas coming out of international break and no doubt Arsene Wenger doesn’t have anything drastic in mind, but is Eddie Nketiah so crazy?
So international break is here and the doldrums are setting in, and for Arsenal, it is a special kind of doldrums, one where they aren’t only bored, but horrifically bummed by where their form has taken them. It’s just a nasty place to be.

And so, ideas are going to be proposed over these next two weeks, some crazy, some not, and all will be desperate attempts to salvage some sort of hope from the season that seems so lost and out of reach.
Thankfully, despite all that, there are still plenty of places where the Gunners can find hope and one of those lesser-known (but more known by the day) sources is the young Englishman/Ghanaian Eddie Nketiah.
After saving Arsenal against Norwich City in the Carabao Cup with two goals in the span of about 15 minutes, Nketiah decided to up the ante with four goals for the England U19 side.
Now, granted it was only against Faroe Island, and it was for the youth side, but you’ll have to pardon Arsenal fans for finding a bit of excitement wherever we can find it.

Goals certainly aren’t the biggest missing piece on this club this year. They have shown a proficiency for scoring their fair share of goals when everything is clicking, but you can always have more right? Just ask Manchester City.
So why not give a young kid with a perpetually hot foot a chance at making a bigger impact than we could have ever anticipated? He already saved our sad bacon once, is it so crazy to think that he could be that uplifting presence late in matches that just haven’t gone our way?
Methinks not. In fact, methinks that you couldn’t find a better candidate for becoming a catalyst of postivity. Not a soul. And that includes everyone in the first team. Because who else do we have that has the knowledge and athleticism to be where he needs to be and punch in goals when the chance is there for them?
Chances are, Wenger won’t make this leap. Eve having Nketiah on the bench seems a bit of a stretch, especially seeing as how he wants to keep get him playing time. And rightfully so.
