Midfield

Given the 4-2-3-1 formation, this midfield encompasses a base two pair and a No. 10. Knowing that, there are very few directions this can go. Mesut Ozil played a full match against West Ham (even if you didn’t see him) and can be expected to sit out.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Granit Xhaka took a thumper to the head and will probably sit this one out as well. That leaves a very young, athletic midfield triangle of Joe Willock in the No. 10 and Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira at the base.

Guendouzi will be in there for sure, it’s Torreira who’s the question mark, since he played the full match against West Ham. But given how little he’s played this year, he really should still be fresh, and Ljungberg no doubt wants to keep him happy. More game time is the way to do that.

Keep an eye on Willock here. He’s been lambasted recently by fans and teammates alike, and he will undoubtedly want a good showing here to help remind everyone that he is still that incredibly talented youngster that he’s been known to be.

Finally, the three attackers.
