Arsenal Team News vs Leicester

What a rollercoaster 90 minutes of football that was in Athens.

No Greek tragedy befell Arsenal even if it looked for all the world as if the Gunners were going to force one upon themselves. Dani Ceballos’ horrendous error in the second half saw him swiftly substituted for Thomas Partey, a move that needed to happen tactically, and came as a most welcome sight.

The Ghanaian is back in the fold now and expected to start on the weekend.

Kieran Tierney got another full 90 minutes under his belt following his own setback, looking shattered after only ten minutes but battling his way through the whole match and producing a clutch moment with his goal setting the stage for a stirring comeback. A decision will need to be made on him.

Rob Holding missed out the fixture with precautionary measures taken on concussion he suffered against Manchester City, but he is back and available for the clash.

One area of concern for Arsenal is with Bukayo Saka, who Arteta admitted is feeling the effects of being the most fielded outfield player this season:

"“It is (nerves of steel), and as well because he’s really fatigued,” the boss confessed on the official Arsenal website. “He’s played a lot of minutes and he hasn’t had much rest.”"

Aside from tiredness, Arsenal have a fully fit squad to contend with. Arteta hasn’t been granted such luxuries this season. Few managers have.

That applies to Rodgers, too. He’s seen his team suffer with setbacks all season, currently having four first-team regulars out for Sunday. Central defender Wesley Fofana misses out with a thigh strain, full-back James Justin has suffered a devastating ACL injury, Dennis Praet is dealing with a hamstring pull and James Maddison continues to be sidelined with a hip issue – one that is keeping him out of the weekend.
