Arsenal hold ambitions of winning the 2024/25 Premier League title at the third time of asking. That said, here are 3 concerns Mikel Arteta could face.

For the last two seasons, Arsenal have been eagerly close to winning the Premier League title. However, they were beaten on both occasions by a new enemy, Man City.

Regardless, Mikel Arteta is viewed as Arsenal's most sensible managerial option. He has a particular way of managing which just works. His methods might be unorthodox but Arsenal is the beneficiary.

Just like there have been in the last two seasons, there will be concerns which arise over Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League. So, here are 3 obstacles which Mikel Arteta must overcome.

3 concerns in Arsenal’s Premier League title charge for 2024/25

1. Injuries to key players

The main concern which Arsenal faced in the 2022/23 season was injuries to their key players. Most notably, Gabriel Jesus missed the first half of that season and William Saliba missed the second half.

Last season, they were luckier with player injuries. The most notable injury concern of the season was Jurrien Timber, missing all but two games. Arsenal dealt with his absence well, though.

At the moment, Arsenal are missing Martin Odegaard. The skipper is perhaps the most influential player at Arsenal, so Mikel Arteta will want him back sooner rather than later.

Touch wood, there are no more injury concerns for Arsenal going forward.

2. A more congested fixture schedule

Returning to European football is great, but it does come with a cost. Arsenal will be playing in more high-stakes games, a tough lesson they were taught last season.

This season, it is worse. With the new Champions League format, Arsenal will play two more guaranteed games in the competition. Instead of six group matches, they will play a minimum of eight. More will be played, if Arsenal fail to automatically qualify for the knockouts.

So, Arsenal must rotate their squad accordingly. This links to the first point as it is impossible to rotate with player injuries.

3. The lack of a 20+ goal striker

I hate to bring up the age-old cliche but it is impossible to analyse Arsenal without mentioning their lack of an out-and-out striker.

This is especially the case, considering their main title rival is Man City, who have a striker capable of scoring 50 in a season. That's no exaggeration.

Kai Havertz does the job well for Arsenal. However, he is not going to produce an Erling Haaland level of output. Nobody can do that except the Norwegian. Hopefully, this is not the difference in the title race.
