Arsenal appear to have been priced out of signing Morgan Rogers. Aston Villa are demanding a fee of £130 million for their England star. Whilst Rogers is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, there are alternative options that might be better suited to the Gunners.

3 Morgan Rogers alternatives Arsenal must consider now

Marcus Rashford

Rogers is predominantly an attacking midfielder, and Arsenal already have Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze in the position. The Villa man can also play on the left wing, which is where Mikel Arteta probably wanted to use him.

The weakness in Arsenal's lineup is that they only have Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli as left wingers. Trossard is now 31, and Martinelli managed just one Premier League goal last season. Improving the left side is what the Gunners need to do.

Marcus Rashford could solve their problem at left wing. He has now returned to Manchester United following a loan at Barcelona last season. It is unlikely that Barca will sign him permanently, as they have now recruited Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

Rashford would cost somewhere in the region of £40 million to prize him away from United. However, the problem Arsenal may have is his wages. He earns £325,000 per week at United, and the Gunners may need him to take a pay cut.

Bradley Barcola

Like Rashford, Bradley Barcola also prefers to play on the left wing. It would be a statement signing for Arsenal to sign him from the Champions League winners, Paris Saint-Germain. However, Barcola would be costly and may even be priced at nearly as much as Rogers. Barcola's wages would be high, but not as much as Rashford's.

Barcola is currently starring for France at the World Cup and scored in their 3-0 win over Sweden in the round of 32. Last season, Barcola was often used off the bench by Luis Enrique; this included the Champions League final win over Arsenal. Barcola would want to join a club where he is the main man. He can also play center-forward, which would be a good option for Arteta if Viktor Gyokeres is not firing.

Ibrahim Maza

If Arteta wants an attacking midfielder to compete with Odegaard and Maza, then Ibrahim Maza of Bayer Leverkusen could be a good option. He would cost around £50 million, and his wages would be far less than Rashford or Barcola would demand.

Maza is an attacking midfielder, but can also play centrally, on either flank, and up front. His versatility could be very useful for Arteta. The player is also only 20, so he has huge potential. In 44 games last season, he scored four goals with seven assists. This was in Germany, so Maza may struggle to adapt to the Premier League, just as Florian Wirtz did when he joined from Liverpool.

If Arsenal were to sign Maza from Leverkusen, then he would likely not improve Arsenal initially. However, he would certainly be an option for the future. This may suit Arsenal as players such as Odegaard and Trossard still have a few more years at the top ahead of them. The Gunners have just won the Premier League, however, and need to improve right away if they are to defend their title.

At the World Cup this summer, Maza did not score or make an assist in any of Algeria's three group games. However, they still qualified for the round of 32 and will next play Switzerland. Arsenal would face competition for his services, as Maza has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well as Barcelona.
