Arsenal welcome arch-rivals Tottenham to the Emirates on Wednesday night as they look to bounce back in the North London Derby.
The Gunners are in serious need of a win having exited the FA Cup at the hands of struggling Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils prevailed in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw. Mikel Arteta's side were held to the same scoreline in their last Premier League outing as they dropped points at Brighton, extending the gap between themselves and league leaders Liverpool to six points.
With victory in a cup competition now looking very unlikely, Arsenal must turn their full attention back to the league. As they look to bounce back against Spurs, there are three key talking points ahead of Wednesday's North London Derby.
1. Serious attacking problems
Sunday's cup defeat to Man Utd saw a continuation of Arsenal's attacking woes, both in front of goal and in terms of fitness. The Gunners have scored one goal from their last 49 shots and should be looking to improve on that drastically on Wednesday.
Kai Havertz failed to score from several good chances for the second game running, bringing into question his ability to lead the line for the Gunners. His poor form has come at a terrible time, with Gabriel Jesus picking up a season-ending injury against United.
With Havertz out of form and Jesus injured, Arsenal find themselves with some serious problems in attack. The German international is now his side's only fit striker so likely to the dismay of some fans, he will continue up front against Spurs. With both Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri still sidelined, Raheem Sterling will have to step in on the right wing.
Arsenal will be fielding a makeshift attack and we will likely see a front three of Gabriel Martinelli, Havertz and Sterling. Considering their current form, that attacking trio does not scream goals. Also facing injury problems, Tottenham are having to play a temporary defence so that offers the Gunners hope.
There is no doubt about it though, Arsenal have some serious attacking issues heading into the derby.
