How many times do I have to tell you? The transfer rumour mills never cease.
Arsenal's inconspicuous start to the 2024/25 campaign has ensured those mills have been churning daily. Insiders and shady sources have been attempting to prise information in regards to the club's future plans.
Given the club's ambition and what is so far looking like a pair of underwhelming 2024 transfer windows, 2025 is going to be hugely significant in determining how the next phase of Mikel Arteta's project pans out.
The Spaniard's squad is not yet complete, but if the latest rumours are to be believed, Arsenal are intent on splashing out next year in a bid to blow their competition out of the water.
Here are five players that have been linked with moves to the red side of north London in 2025.
1. Leroy Sane
Sane's game-breaking ability manifested in the first leg of Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich last season, with the winger again showcasing his destructive best in Bayern's semi-final defeat to Real Madrid.
The winger set the world alight at the start of last season, but his 2024 has barely flickered thus far and Michael Olise's impact following his summer arrival means Sane is fighting for minutes in Bavaria.
He's entered the final year of his contract at Bayern and an agreement isn't yet close to being reached. As a result, a couple of potential suitors are beginning to manifest, including Arsenal. Arteta worked wonders with Sane at Manchester City, and the Spaniard requires superior options in wide areas.
Sane remains mightily explosive and is comfortable off both flanks. This is a potential free transfer that'd surely interest the Gunners.
2. Benjamin Sesko
Remember when Arsenal were intent on signing a striker? Nah, me neither.
Discourse entering 2024 was dominated by the Gunners' need to acquire their long-term nine, but the club opted against the move in January before Kai Havertz embarked as a legitimate forward option down the 2023/24 stretch.
The German's goalscoring run meant Arsenal weren't in the market for a striker after Sesko opted to remain at RB Leipzig before the start of Euro 2024. Arsenal were in for the Slovenian phenom, and that interest surely won't dissipate next year.
Sesko's continued to be productive in Germany all while showing off his ludicrous athletic profile which persistently staggers. He's the sort of forward that strikes fear in opposing defences, and the young striker should be available for a reasonable fee in 2025 despite the dissolution of his previous release clause.
3. Viktor Gyokeres
Gyokeres is the 'it guy' of 2024/25. The former Coventry forward scored a hatful last season, but his prestige is only increasing this term and a hat-trick bagged against Manchester City in the Champions League has only raised his profile.
Gyokeres is a phenomenon who excels in transition. He's unstoppable when matched up one-on-one in the channels, and he's proven to be borderline unflappable in front of goal over the past 18 months. He's scoring at a ridiculous rate, but the nature of the competition Gyokeres faces weekly has to be taken into account.
For me, while Gyokeres is a transition monster, I fear that he's not there yet when tasked with manipulating and finding space within tightly packed defensive structures.
Still, Gyokeres' ability to put the ball in the back of the net is his most important attribute and he's going to have Europe's elite at his feet next year.
4. Alexander Isak
Arsenal may opt against venturing overseas in their striker hunt. They're well aware of what Isak offers, with the Newcastle forward recently scoring the only goal in the Magpies' 1-0 win over the Gunners at St. James' Park.
Isak has the aesthetics to dazzle, but he boasts the substance to match the style. There have previously been stylistic comparisons to Thierry Henry, although Isak doesn't quite boast the explosiveness of the Frenchman nor his ability to threaten from distance. Still, there are a couple of similarities.
Isak can operate out wide but is at his best when functioning from the left inside channel. His feet are magic, and he's superb at creating an inch of space in the box which allows him to get a high-quality shot off. Isak's ability with both feet is also impressive, and he's blossoming into a star all-around #9.
Newcastle risk losing their striker next summer over contract concerns, and Arsenal, according to TEAMtalk, are sniffing around.
5. Martin Zubimendi
Don't fear, it's not just goal-getters and wide players being churned out. Arsenal are once again being linked with cultured holding midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The homegrown Real Sociedad star turned down Liverpool in the summer and is bound to garner plenty of interest in 2025. Manchester City could pivot to the Spaniard to mitigate Rodri's ACL tear midway through the season, while the Independent understand Arsenal are 'monitoring' Zubimendi's situation in San Sebastian.
Arteta craves a variety of midfield profiles who can operate at the base of midfield, and the closest thing to Zubimendi in north London (Jorginho) is likely on his way out next year. The club's sound relationship with Sociedad should aid any potential negotiations, but the player will take some convincing to depart his boyhood club.
