Arsenal could be made to pay by Tottenham for their Gabriel injury

Even though Arsenal are clear favorites going into the North London derby on Sunday, a lot of the fanbase is worried about Gabriel's injury and what it could mean for their game on the weekend, as well as the season in general.

Obviously, Arsenal have enough depth to see out the next two months with relative ease, but it is games like this where the importance of one of their top, top players really comes to light.

Arsenal face Tottenham on the weekend, and then they face Bayern Munich mid-week for their Champions League top-of-the-table clash.

So, I do sympathise with Arsenal fans. That does not mean they will definitely lose the game - far from it, but it does leave a hint of doubt in their heads.

Luckily, Arsenal signed Christhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie as centre-back covers earlier in the summer, so whoever comes in should be able to do a decent job.

There is a catch, though. Tottenham, according to the Daily Mail, are trying to recover Randal Kolo Muani for the big game on Sunday.

Randal Kolo Muani could cause Arsenal some problems if he plays

Kolo Muani played with a protective mask to shield his jaw in training on Thursday, and if he gets the all-clear to play, there could be a problem.

Not a huge problem, but if Kolo Muani finds himself in a favorable situation, things could get messy for the Gunners.

With Gabriel's injury, they lose that physicality factor - at least some of it - against Tottenham, which is also so important to have against a rapid striker like Kolo Muani.

What the Frenchman lacks in core strength, he makes up for in pace - and he is not exactly a weakling, either - which means Mosquera has to start against Spurs.

He is not the quickest defender, but he is really strong and physical, which could give problems to Kolo Muani. He is a tall centre-back as well, making him a great option to temporarily replace Gabriel.

The pace of Hincapie could also help - and it would be the more natural fit among the two as the Ecuadorian is a left central defender, but he does lack a bit of physicality when compared to guys like Mosquera and Gabriel.

Hincapie does have pace, but you'd need physicality against a guy like Kolo Muani to slow him down. If you go up against him on a racetrack, it might not be a good idea.
