Arsenal no doubt have one of the most complete squads in Europe right now, but they aren't perfect by any means. The left-wing position was discussed a lot over the summer, and it's still causing issues, as there's clearly a hole there.
The Gunners sold both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the summer transfer window, and were then tasked with replacing the duo. They were linked with Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea, and Vinicius Jr, who signed a new contract at Real Madrid.
Arsenal did sign Greek international Christos Tzolis, who has looked solid in flashes, but he's not yet good enough and reliable enough to be Arsenal's starting left-winger, especially as they're looking for multiple pieces of silverware this season.
Heading into the winter, Arsenal could consider signing another winger in the January window, and considering Tzolis' lack of experience, signing someone who is Premier League-proven would be a wise decision.
Arsenal should hijack Liverpool and Man Utd's Schade approach
Brentford and Germany star Kevin Schade would be one such player who is proven in the Premier League. He's dynamic, he has plenty of pace, and is more than capable of scoring 10-15 goals in a season, which is exactly what the Gunners need on the wing.
It's a slight surprise that Schade hasn't been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, but he isn't going unnoticed in the Premier League. According to TeamTalk, both Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing the German international.
They claim that Schade is in talks over a new contract at Brentford, but if this falls through, then a move in January could be likely. The 24-year-old has had an excellent start to the season, scoring three goals in five games, and looks to be Keith Andrews' talisman in West London.
Why Schade would be a great fit for Arsenal
Schade would easily solve the Gunners' left-wing issue, as he is everything they need at the position. He has the ball-carrying ability of Eberechi Eze, combined with the end product and goal-scoring threat of Bukayo Saka.
He has his admirers at Brentford, none more so than manager Andrews. Speaking to BBC Sport after Brnetford's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth before the international break, the Bees' manager was full of praise for the 24-year-old. He said: "He has been electric, he has attacked everything and is in a good rhythm with his game. We are in discussions [over a new contract], let's see how it pans out."
Plus, Schade's transfer value hasn't skyrocketed yet, so the Gunners might be able to sign him for a fairly modest fee. The 24-year-old has a market value of £30m, so Arsenal could certainly pay less than £50m for him, which would be a great deal in today's market.
However, if they were to make a move for Schade, they would perhaps have to move quickly, considering the reported interest from Liverpool and Man United. But the draw of being Arsenal's starting left-winger would surely be enough to tempt the Brentford star.
