According to reports in France, William Saliba has moved up the estimations of Real Madrid. Further, the Arsenal player cannot simply ignore the transfer interest.

Arsenal have not had the best start to the season. Considering they aimed to win the Premier League title this season, they head into the November international break in fourth place.

Of course, there remains plenty of time for Arsenal to put things right. This is especially the case considering Man City's poor form of late. However, the fear is that the Gunners have fallen too far behind Liverpool at this stage of the season.

Nevertheless, Arsenal cannot fix the past. They can only look forward.

The future looks bright for Arsenal. Some of their young players have emerged into some of the best players in the world. However, what's important now is that Arsenal keep them happy, especially one player in particular.

Arsenal star player struggles to ignore Real Madrid transfer interest

According to a report from French outlet Le10Sport, William Saliba is not ruling out a transfer to Real Madrid. In fact, he sees it as difficult to ignore the interest, as it stands he is "not indifferent" to the interest.

From Arsenal's perspective, this should be taken with a pinch of salt. Media outlets cannot report that players are not interested in Real Madrid. Such is the nature of this sport, every player in the world is interested in Real Madrid.

Therefore, just because William Saliba is not opposed to the move, it does not mean he's heading in this direction. Two things can exist at the same time; Saliba can be listening to interest, while also remaining happy at Arsenal.

This is not the most reassuring message, I understand that. However, Arsenal fans must not expect William Saliba to keep a guard up. Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, after all.

That said, William Saliba has every reason to be happy at Arsenal. It is in North London where the Frenchman has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world.

Saliba is a key figurehead in Mikel Arteta's long-term plan. Therefore, Arsenal fans should expect the club to do everything in their power to keep him. He is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until 2027, after all.
