Arsenal has seriously cooked under Andrea Berta. When Edua Gaspar left the club, the feeling was that he could never be replaced, or at least that it would take years.
However, that was not the case. Berta came to Arsenal with a vision, and he implemented it immediately. So much so, it took no time at all for Arsenal fans to forget about Edu.
Berta is responsible for some pretty game-changing signings, including (but by no means limited to) Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze.
Over the weekend, Andrea Berta made some moves that will shock absolutely nobody.
Andrea Berta tempts Rodrigo Mendoza away from Tottenham
We mentioned Eberechi Eze before, but Elche midfielder Rodrigo Mendoza might be the next to make the right decision for Arsenal over Tottenham.
Mendoza has not made up his mind on his future yet, but it's believed that Andrea Berta is the guy leading Arsenal's pursuit of him.
Football Insider reveals that Mendoza has a release clause in his contract worth around £17m, and TEAMTALK says he is now eyed by the three big London clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
If given the choice, it would be entirely surprising if Mendoza chose Tottenham over the former two. Still, 20-year-olds have made worse decisions.
Arsenal agrees a deal to sign Ecuadorian twins
The latest exclusive news from James Olley (ESPN) suggests that the Gunners have agreed a deal in principle to sign the Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente Del Valle, Piero Hincapie's former club.
The 16-year-old twins are in London to complete all the necessary formalities, but it's looking good from Arsenal's perspective. This is a deal that would see them join when they turn 17 in August.
Arsenal is in contact with Kenan Yildiz' agent
Kenan Yildiz is regarded as one of the best young players in the world. Juventus, who is no stranger to producing some find young talents, would ideally not like to sell him, but they wouldn't like to cough up unnecessary wages, either.
There is a contract situation that the player and the club have not resolved yet. Yildiz wants to earn more, a similar amount to Jonathan David. However, Juventus is pushing this reality to the side more and more.
If this remains the case, Arsenal has expressed interest in Yildiz to his agent, and there is every likelihood that they could swoop in as soon as the summer.
