Bruno Guimaraes is believed to have his head turned by Arsenal; meanwhile, the Gunners are facing intense pressure for the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Man City. All this and more in this week's Arsenal transfer news roundup.

Arsenal could turn Bruno Guimaraes' head

As it stands, there has been no official bid from Arsenal. However, the Gunners are well aware of the price it will take to sway Newcastle to part ways with Bruno Guimaraes.

According to Lee Ryder of Chronicle Live, Newcastle are braced for Arsenal to take the next step. While Newcastle have stated he's not for sale, there is growing concern from the Magpies that they will lose Guimaraes.

It is stated within the report that Arsenal feel like a £65m offer would convince Newcastle to part ways with Newcastle, having already lost Sandro Tonali to the other side of North London.

£65m would be a fair price for Bruno Guimaraes. It is certainly much fairer than the daylight robbery of Tottenham for Sandro Tonali, but that's a story for a different day.

Partnered with Declan Rice, there is nothing stopping Bruno Guimaraes from playing in the best midfield in the world.

Man City enter the race to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi

Ayyoub Bouaddi is certainly an Arsenal transfer target this summer. The Morocco international is just 18 years old, but is bound to turn heads after starting three of Morocco's World Cup games so far.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Man City have already held initial talks for Ayyoub Bouaddi, as a potential target for the future.

Four clubs are believed to be involved in the race, but PSG is not one of them.

Man City is keen to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi, with an eye to let him play for Lille potentially until the 2027/28 season.

That could be an attractive proposition for Lille, so if Arsenal are serious about signing the World Cup starlet, then they should present their own proposition.

Arsenal are focused heavily on midfield strength

A recent report from David Ornstein suggests that Arsenal are putting a lot of their focus into strengthening the midfield department.

Speaking to the Athletic Podcast, Ornstein said "Arsenal, a lot of people you speak to around the club, actually feel that despite previously looking at players like Sandro Tonali for this summer, that Bruno Guimarães is a better fit and complements Declan Rice in a way some feel Tonali wouldn’t,"

“Guimarães won’t be the only option Arsenal are looking at in midfield. We’ve seen reports of Ayyoub Bouaddi, it’s not even clear if he will leave Lille. It just goes to show Arsenal are looking at the #6, #8 area & they are surveying the options in the market.”

Arsenal have invested a lot in the midfield lately, with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi proving to be marquee signings. However, depth is certainly necessary.

Arsenal show an interest in Bradley Barcola

Thankfully, Arsenal have recognised that Morgan Rogers might not be worth signing. In case they pursue other options, the Gunners have lined up Bradley Barcola as a potential alternative.

According to Sami Mokbel of the BBC, who is often a reliable source, the £130m price tag that Aston Villa value Rogers at could prove to be a stumbling block.

The Gunners are showing an increased interest in Barcola. Furthermore, they are expected to 'step up' their interest this week, having watched him in France's Round of 32 tie against Sweden at the World Cup.
