Fabrizio Romano has revealed Arsenal's intentions this summer - They will sign a top-class left-winger, regardless of outgoings, with Morgan Rogers being priority number one and Bradley Barcola being priority number two. All this and more in this week's Arsenal transfer news.
Illan Meslier is heading to Arsenal
Leeds United goalkeeper looks set to join Arsenal now. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is all but confirmed. Contracts have been signed, and medicals took place yesterday (Tuesday).
Illan Meslier is a long-term transfer target for Arsenal, but only now have they sealed the deal.

Contract also signed after medical done in London on Tuesday.

Nobody is expecting Meslier to take the number one shirt anytime soon, since Arsenal already have the best goalkeeper in the world in David Raya. Meslier will come in to provide some backup and potentially play in some cup games for Arsenal next season.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was offered to Inter Milan, who said no
Kepa Arrizabalaga, who appears on the Arsenal chopping block after they signed Illan Meslier, was offered to Inter Milan in April, but they rejected him.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is a real chance Kepa leaves Arsenal this summer, but it all depends on the proposals. While Inter rejected him, there is still some opportunity in Spain, where he is still held in high regard.
To be completely honest, Kepa is a better goalkeeper than Meslier. If anything, if Kepa were to leave, it feels like a downgrade rather than an upgrade. Then again, Mikel Arteta has proven me wrong in the past.
Arsenal have a clear path to signing a new left-winger
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are keen to improve their left-wing options this summer, regardless of which players will leave the club.
The Italian journalist has indicated that Morgan Rogers is the first priority option for Arsenal, with Aston Villa keen to open talks at £130m.
PSG are open to selling Bradley Barcola this summer. With his contract talks in the French capital reaching a standstill, Barcola remains Arsenal's second choice at left wing.
I don't think anyone's denying that £130m is a gigantic price for Morgan Rogers. As much as Arsenal want him, it would be a risky deal to spend that amount of cash. Arsenal's priority there should be to negotiate with Aston Villa.
Leandro Trossard is Besiktas-bound
As it stands, Leandro Trossard looks set to join Besiktas after the World Cup. Arsenal has accepted an offer in the region of €20m, with the deal expected to progress after the World Cup, not during it.
Leandro Trossard is in the World Cup quarter-final with Belgium, after providing an assist to send the USA home (not that they have far to travel!)
Trossard is, without a doubt, a club legend at Arsenal. His goal against West Ham in the tailend of last season is enough to put himself within Arsenal's folklore, even if he didn't start every game.
It would have been worthwhile keeping hold of Trossard, so to see him leave is disappointing. It's made even more disappointing by Arsenal's inability to sell players at the right price... At €20m, Besiktas robbed Arsenal blind.
