The Gunners have had quite the summer with three deals completed, and maybe more on the way.
We stated prior to the summer transfer window opening that this was going to be a defining one for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, and Andrea Berta, and goodness me, they've taken things seriously.
As preseason comes into focus, the Gunners have already signed three players, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard, while agreeing on fees with Viktor Gyokeres (finally) and Noni Madueke, so that will take the total to five players.
But wait, there might be more.
The Gunners could still be in the market for winger Eberechi Eze and defender Christian Mosquera (in fact, the latter has already had the 'Here We Go' label applied, which only means one thing).
Holy smokes Berta is in his bag.
The thing is about the signings is that they fill a need.
Kepa is a good backup keeper, Zubimendi will take over Thomas Partey's role, Norgaard has proven Premier League experience in the middle of the pitch and provides good depth, while Gyokeres will lead the line (duh), and Madueke will also be a depth piece.
The Gunners had a good summer, but the latest developments on Viktor have put it over the edge. This is a great window (when we get Gyokeres officially signed).
Gunners having superb window
It might be asking too much to get both Eze and Mosquera through the doors in the next month or so, but this is looming as a big week for the Gunners given Arteta's want to have all signings done when they begin preseason.
This summer was a crucial one for Arteta, and thus far, while we aren't saying it's perfect, it's been really good, and it has the potential to get even better if either one or both of Eze and Mosquera are signed.
Given how close the Gunners have been to the Premier League title over the past couple of years, is this the window that puts Arteta's side firmly into calculations? That is the hope, and if one of the best windows in recent memory can't get it done, then we don't know what will.
But for now, let's sit back and relish in what has been a superb transfer window for the club, and there's every chance that it will get better.
