Kieran Tierney is close to re-joining on a pre-contract agreement. However, he might still leave Arsenal on loan in the January transfer window.

Kieran Tierney has been linked with a move away from Arsenal for the last few seasons. In fact, he has spent plenty of time away from the Emirates Stadium, to develop his playing style elsewhere.

This is because under Mikel Arteta, the Scottish defender has fallen massively out of favour. This is despite him having all the ability in the world to be a stellar defender.

Over the last couple of matches in important derbies against Man United and Tottenham, Kieran Tierney has been used from the bench. However, the chance of him picking up anything more than a bench appearance are slim to none.

Therefore, Kieran Tierney is expected to be playing his final season in an Arsenal shirt. Much to the upset of Arsenal fans, it might even be his last month.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Celtic are close to agreeing a pre-contract agreement with Kieran Tierney, which would see him re-join the Hoops after his contract expires.

Furthermore, the Glaswegian side are hopeful about exploring a loan deal, which would see him arrive this month. This is especially the case if Celtic qualify for the Champions League knockout rounds.

Unsurprisingly, Celtic are having another superb season. They are top of the Scottish Premiership, have won the Scottish League Cup and they are making incredible progress in the Champions League.

It is really no surprise that Celtic want to re-sign Kieran Tierney. After all, he was once their star-boy and he is one of the finest players to come through Celtic Way. A return to the club who made him would complete the fairtytale of Tierney's career.

Granted, it hasn't entirely worked out for Tierney at Arsenal. However, it is through no fault of his own. Whenever he's played, he's given nothing but respect to the football club and he's worn the badge with pride.

Also, his knack for wearing short sleeves and shorts in the snow will never be forgotten, even if never repeated again, in North London.
