Arsenal had to fight through adversity in the 1-0 win over Wolves.

Arsenal managed to claim a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves to move to second in the Premier League, but it was far from a sure thing.

Myles Lewis-Skelly was shown a straight red for "serious foul play" with minutes left in the first half and the Gunners were forced to play the rest of the contest with 10 men.

Despite that, and being on the road, through Riccardo Calafiori's second-half strike, the Gunners were able to claim a vital three points that keep them within striking distance of league leaders Liverpool, albeit just.

In a hostile environment, to not wilt under the pressure, or let the red card mentally derail the minds of the players, the Gunners stuck to their task and pulled out a win against the odds.

The red card simply wasn't a red card, and while we can argue about that until the cows come home, the Gunners knew they had a job to do, and my word that did it. While it won't win any awards for style the most important thing was the club come away with a win, which is exactly what they did, and on the road no less.

With the Gunners up against it, they needed all the help they could get in an attempt to move past the red card and push forward to try and win the game.

That's where the away fans answered the call and never let up as they helped push the team to the win, and don't think it wasn't noticed. The level of play that the Gunners showed, with the away fans cheering them on was easy to see, and we often hear the away crowd get drowned out by the home side's support, but not this time as the Gunners fans were a class above and no one can doubt that they too, played a role in the win.

Attention now turns to Girona in the Champions League midweek as the Gunners look to secure progression to the next round before a crunch clash against Manchester City at the Emirates.

It was a tough afternoon against Wolves, but the Gunners through their willingness to adapt to the adversity, coupled with the away fans pushing them on, claimed a win against the odds to keep the title charge alive.
