Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to arrive in London this week to complete his impending transfer to Arsenal, according to reports.

The Gunners' new backup goalkeeper is set to be at the club's training ground London Colney to seal his move from rivals Chelsea.

A deputy shotstopper had been one of Arsenal's priorities heading into the transfer window and the soon-to-be confirmed signing of Kepa will have that task checked off the list.

Once Kepa has put pen to paper on his move to Arsenal, the club will be ready to announce the signing and that should kickstart a summer of transfers that hasn't seen much action so far.

The Gunners are reported to have finally wrapped up the long-awaited signing of Martin Zubimendi, who was in London last week to complete the final steps of his move from Real Sociedad. However, they may not be ready to announce him yet.

Rumours have claimed Sociedad want Arsenal to hold off on the official announcement until July for accounting purposes. It would seem the Gunners have agreed to that request and that could see Kepa be their first signing of the summer.

Regardless of when it is announced, it's a very positive sign Kepa is expected to be at London Colney this week. It will mean the deal is official (at least behind closed doors) and Arsenal will have at last begun their summer business.

With the end of Neto's loan from Bournemouth, signing a new backup goalkeeper was one of the Gunners' biggest priorities this summer and they will have acted on that need once Kepa has made his switch across the capital official. It will act as a statement that despite a slow start, Arsenal are going to be busy during the transfer window.
