Arsenal didn't just lose to Man City; they were handed a painful lesson by their new-age rivals. Man City showed up and played like a team worthy of winning trophies. Arsenal, on the other hand, did not. However, Pep Guardiola does not believe this result should be cause for concern for Arsenal, who he described as the best team in Europe alongside Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

In his own words, Pep Guardiola said: "Alongside Bayern Munich and maybe Barcelona as well, [Arsenal are] the best team in Europe."

He then spoke on whether he believes Arsenal will let this impact the Premier League title race, to which he said: “It will have no impact. Different competitions and they will be (focused) when they come to the Etihad, I don’t know what the situation will be."

Arsenal remain focused on the Premier League

It is natural for fans to be hysterical. After all the anticipation around the cup final, the morale of the fanbase is now flat and stale, which is wild for a team still capable of winning the treble.

Let's face it, Arsenal's confidence will be rocked, but it would take a lot to steer their attention away from the Premier League. They are laser focused on lifting the title, and have been since the start of the season. Losing the cup final does not eat into their nine point advantage at the top.

Man City have a lot of ground to make up in the title race. They were definitely the better team at Wembley, and they deserved to win the Carabao Cup more than Arsenal did, but Arsenal are in much better league form. Many would even argue the title race is dead and buried, but Arsenal fans know better than to take it as gospel.

Pep Guardiola calls Arsenal the best team in the world

If Arsenal are worthy of winning the Premier League, which they are, then the confidence knock will only be temporary. Pep Guardiola listed Arsenal among his two former clubs as the best three teams in the world. The best teams in the world do not let lapses in form turn into snowballs.

Arsenal should have more fire than ever right now. They were just served a brutal reminder that Man City are there to capitalise on any slip-ups. However, Arsenal are not the same team that gave them slip-ups in the past. Now, it's time to prove that to the world.

All eyes are on Mikel Arteta's side over the next few months.
