As eluded to earlier, Bruno Guimaraes' arrival does mean there will have to be cuts to the midfield. Unfortunately, one of those players who is bound to miss out is Emile Smith Rowe.

Despite playing more advanced than Bruno Guimaraes, there is no room in the squad for both players. Considering Emile Smith Rowe has not started a Premier League game in two years, he was bound to be on thin ice heading into the summer transfer window anyway, but the arrival of Bruno would only cement his position on the chopping board.

All the Gabriels (winners)

It might take Arsenal fans to get used to having a Brazilian player in the squad whose forename isn't Gabriel. However, they are certainly accustomed to hosting Brazilian players, particularly since Edu Gaspar took charge as sporting director.

Bruno Guimaraes would join Gabriel Magalhaes, Martinelli and Jesus in the Arsenal team as part of a Brazilian core. Given that the nation is known for producing some of the best players throughout history, it is certainly the direction to go.
